Common Requirements for All Visa Types
These documents are required for all visa types at Kolkata consulate:
Personal Documents
Valid Passport
Valid passport at least for Six month.
Visa Form
Online Visa application form duly filled and signed. [Visa application form link](http://bio.visaforchina.org/CCU2_EN/COVA/).
Passport copy
Passport Size Photo
One Photograph (Fresh ones i.e. NOT used earlier for any visa). (Photo specification given below)
Travel Documents
Day Wise Itinerary
Schedule of stay in China (If multi-city).
Occupation Proof
If you are an employee
Original Bank statement of last 6 months Stamped from Bank (Personal). NOC from Company.
If you are proprietor/owner of the company
Original Bank statement of last 6 months Stamped from Bank (Company and Personal). Cover letter on company’s Letterhead (Proprietor Stamp Required On Covering Letter).

Business Visa
Business Documents
Invitation
From Chinese Company as per the Embassy format strictly (Invitation letter format attached in the Forms section). (Invitation letter should be addressed to The Visa Officer, Consulate General of the People's Republic of China, Kolkata). The name of the authorised signatory should be written in Chinese Language. Invitation letter should be signed in Chinese Language and signed by Chinese national only.
Company’s Cover Letter
Original Covering letter mentioning details of inviting company, purpose of trip, entry and exit date, applicant's name, Designation, passport details, date of birth with company stamp, name and designation of authorized signatory. (The Covering letter should be addressed to The Visa Officer, Consulate General of the People's Republic of China, Kolkata).
Note
PHOTO SPECIFICATIONS
It must be a color photo, taken recently within the last 6 months.
Size: 33mm x 48mm.
Face coverage: 80% (without lipstick, without ornaments).
Background: White only, and not wearing white clothes.
On glossy paper only (matte and semi-matte photographs will not be accepted).
Eyeglasses are allowed except thick-rimmed, tinted, or glare glasses. There should not be any reflection due to eyeglasses or glare glasses.
The Consular District
The Consular District covers the States of West Bengal, Orissa, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, and Bihar.
Important Note
The Covering Letter, Invitation, and Ticket should match dates of Entry-Exit from China. Applications without matching Entry-Exit dates will not be accepted.

Applicant has to come personally at the time of visa submission after booking an appointment.

Processing Time
Normal: 5 working days. Urgent: 3 working days. Urgent Visas: Urgent visas submitted on the following day as entry into VFS before 10 AM. NOTE: Please note that above is only an indicative processing time which is based on the current trend. Actual processing time may vary and is at sole discretion of the Visa Consular of the Embassy/Consulate.
